Forumite John McGann and I have a new book just published: Joaquin Murphey, Classic Western Swing Steel Guitar Solos. John has transcribed 18 of Joaquin's best improvised solos (w/ chord progressions) from currently available CDs or by download courtesy of Herb Steiner www.herbsteiner.com. Please see "For Sale: Music, Lessons, Etc."

Scotty will have a limited number of books for sale at the convention.

Good on you both.
Sounds cool, and a lot of work too.
I'll try to grab one early.

Good Deal! I remember when Joaquin was at my house in Phoenix, ariz.around 1972? He played my 6 pedal Black 14 string , I built with a 8 string mult-kord changer in it...And...

I never heard music and licks out it like that before....al

Eighteen solos?? I would have been happy with even one or two! You guys are crazy, man! Good job!

p.s. How about a sneak peak at a line or two just to see the format, etc.?

I just got my copy and am looking forward to getting home tonight to noodle with it, good work John and Andy. There's a picture of Joaquin with his pedal Bigsby on Page 13 and while there's not a lot of detail in that shot it looks like the tuners are on the right end of the guitar. Chas or Pete is that right and did PB make any more like that?
