Anyone interested in a great Steel CD should check out the latest project from Jeff and Gloria Surratt. It would be very hard to find a mix of players that would even come close to those on this one single CD. Just think, Lloyd Green, Tommy White, Robby Turner, Mike Johnson, Steve Hinson, Pat Severs, Dan Dugmore, Russ Pahl, Jeff Whittington, Eddy Dunlap, Smith Curry, and of coarse, a couple of great cuts by the Master him self, Jeff Surratt. There is even one by the late and great Duane Marrs. All but Duane's were recorded on Show Pro Guitars. Fantastic, just fantastic. |

No secret, and we've only had it back a couple of weeks. We'll have to work on getting samples up. However,we're getting rave reviews. A forum member from Alaska wrote and said " it doesn't have all of the same old songs" and an amazing lineup of players and variety. One of the foremost Canadian steelers ordered 50 after getting his in St.Louis. Harry Jackson called and said he hadn't heard one as good since the Day "Steel and Strings" album. A lot of talented people contributed to this historic steel compilation. Ordering information available at the Show Pro Steel Guitars web site. Thanks, Jeff |

I just got my copy on Friday and I've been playing it almost non-stop when I'm at home. It really is a wonderful project. I hadn't heard Jeff play before and his own cuts, especially "That's how I got to Memphis" are among my favorites of the seventeen tracks. The Show Pros sound sweet, and all the sweeter since I have one being built right now. After hearing the CD I'm really eager and excited about getting the guitar. |

Jeff Bates is singing on "Linda On My Mind" with Jeff Surratt on steel and Aly Cutter sings "Blue Bayou" with Dan Dugmore on steel. The other fifteen tracks are instrumentals.
Mike Johnson is brilliant on the gospel tune, "The Lighthouse". What an awesome and fresh arrangement!
Tommy White is stunning on the old Ronnie Milsap tune, "That Girl Who Waits On Tables".
And Lloyd Green...well he's Lloyd Green and he never ceases to amaze!
There are so many surprises and such great playing that you just have to hear this one for yourself. _________________ Tony Rankin |

Apparently Russ Pahl was a bit apprehensive about his contribution ( From Square One) since it is definitely not a standard pedal steel track. But I was once a big Jeff Beck fan and Russ Pahl's tune instantly made me think of Beck. I like it a lot and he does a fantastic job on it. |

It's definitely one of the best steel CD's I've heard in a while. All the cuts are great and interesting. I particularly like the Lloyd Green tune and Jeff's playing on "That's How I got To Memphis". That's a good song, and it works well for steel. The Tommy White cuts are good too, especially "That Girl Who Waits On Tables".

Ordered my own copy, got here in two days.
Wall-to-wall pedal steel guitar. What a bargain for all the great players and variety. Jeff, this a fantastic CD!
Lloyd Green never ceases to amaze me. I assume he uses the same set-up as he always has.
Tommy White's "Wichita Lineman" really caught my ear, really modern sounding. |
