Let's try this again. I need a '66 D10 bolt-on body. An original one, don't want to have one built.

Jerry -
I checked and this is the last one I have in stock . Seriously, this is from a '66 bolt-on that I've been holding on to for several years, hoping the endplates would resurface from the original owner. . . but they haven't yet. Haven't thought much about selling with those hopes still faintly alive but maybe something could be worked out. Up until about 4 years ago, this was in the original owner's attic for over 30 years.

Hmmm. Maybe Jerry is the one that has those missing endplates. |

Nope, I have a 66 bolt-on that the body has been saturated with oil to the extent that I have not been able to get the oil out. I have let it lay in the driveway sun every summer for about 6 years and it still bleeds oil and I have put mica on it twice and it will not stick. I am ready to start with a different body. Mike, you have my attention.
Thanks,
Jerry |

Jerry - A buddy of mine restored my Dad's very, very old L.C. Smith shotgun a number of years ago. Both the buttstock and the forearm were completely black, from soaking up sweat and oil.
The only way he could get all the oil out was by baking the wood pieces in his oven. He did that for days on end until all the oil came out. He couldn't believe that so much oil could be absorbed by wood. The refinished pieces look gorgeous now.
Maybe you could take the body to your local pizza joint and see if they would bake it overnight, on low heat, for you. You never know....
