I've used ProfexII's for several years and haven't had any problems, just switched and upgraded to a TTFex and a lot of the settings tend to overdrive even at lower volumes. I'm playing the TTFex through a Hilton VP all through a Webb 614-E. I've fiddled around with the pre/gain sections but still can't seem to figure out where the overdrive/distortion is coming from. It only seems to do it on the channels with TB, the other ProfexII channels that I have programmed in with the 3B I don't seem to have any problem with, they just don't sound as good of course.
What gives?! Thanks _________________ Benjamin Turner |

Are you using Profex II programs with the TB added? or specific TTFex programs?
Load one of the TTFex programs from the listing on my web site. I know these do not distort and see what happens. NOTE: the global level settings I list with the Hilton are for driving a power amp, if you are connecting to the guitar input on an amp you will have to decrease the Global settings or it will overdrive.

Also, since you are running this to a guitar amp, the global levels may be too hot as the TTFex is designed to be both the preamp and effects processor and it can put out "line level" signals which will overdrive a guitar amp input.
I would also put this after the Volume Pedal, not before it.
I used a TTFex for about 6 or 7 years, but it was always in a rack system. |

Thank Jack. I was in fact using your settings but through an amp. I have decreased the input & output levels and it seems to be doing ok now, no clipping. I just got the unit yesterday so I'm still figuring it out. I programmed in your DIST 1 channel but it don't sound real good through an amp. Any suggestions?
Thanks. _________________ Benjamin Turner |

I don't have a TTFex anymore. What I had worked with my Franklin and a MosValve 500 power amp. The distortion settings can be hard to crank in and you may have to modify them. I think the program I have was just copied from one of the factory programs. |

Thanks for the help Jack. I have sat down today with it and put together some pretty nice sounding settings. I was able to get a killer overdrive out of this with some tweaking. I didn't have as much luck with the distortion, but the overdrive sounds good enough, I don't need the DS patch at all _________________ Benjamin Turner |
