I have a tube type Fender Twin Reverb amp that I have had in storage for more than 25 years. Does anyone know of someone or a facility in Northern VA / Washington DC that repairs Fenders? I want to get it cleaned up so my son can use it.

Thanks... George

I don't know about N. Va., but there is an outfit across the river in Silver Spring called Protech. There used to be another off the Beltway 495 and Central Ave. called Central Electronics, but I don't know if they are still in business.

One of my old hangouts, Washington Music Center, (AKA Chuck Levin's) in Wheaton does very good repair work. I've used them several times, as well as made some good purchases there. Always crowded and noisey in there!

Chuck Levin's sold their amp repair outfit to someone else who ran it for a while. The possibility is they also ran it into the ground because it's not there anymore.

Doesn't really cost that much to pull the chassis, and ship it to Ken Fox. He's great to deal with, quick turn around and he knows his stuff!

So, I wonder who does their repair work now?

One of the Peavey "authorized repair centers" was listed in G. Burnie. When I went to the address, it was just a house with a truck and motorcycle in the driveway. And that's when I started going back to Chucks for my amp repairs. Evil or Very Mad

Anyhow, I apologize for giving old info. I didn't know they'd closed the repair shop. Embarassed
