Confused I have one that seemed to have went bad not sure why, never been played at loud volume. I emailed Mr. Brown a month or so ago to ask the same question.
He said to start with my local Peavey dealer to get it. They hum hawed around and said they could not get it, but I also ask them to order a Nashville 112 last year after hearing Paul Franklin use one in the studio and it never came in. I have used Peavey amps since the seventy's. Mr. Brown if you by chance read this my dealer is in Jonesboro,ar. Someone needs to check this dealer out! This is not good for Peavey.
There may be another dealer close but not sure. Maybe in Memphis,tn

Here in England we can buy Black Widows direct from Peavey UK as they are deemed to be a replacement part. I put a Neo magnet on one of my 1501's and it has really reduced the weight. Mike Brown has indicated that the 1501-4 is still available over in the USA, and I would have thought that you would be able to get them much cheaper than we do.

Mark - why not just do a search on the internet to find your closest dealers?

Mark, have you tried Ronnie Neighbors guitar shop over in Hot Springs? He is a Peavey dealer and carries the 1501's. I know they're on back order at a bunch of stores though. I think you can find info for him in the links header above.

Orange County Speaker Repair shows a new basket only in stock.

I might could help you out if you can't find one anywhere and you can get by with just a replacement basket.

After possessing the Session 400LTD new from about 1977, I suddenly started to hear buzzes, particularly when plucking the bass strings of the steel guitar. Once it was determined that the speaker was to blame, I removed the three Allen screws from the magnet on the back of the speaker to find three problems which could have contributed to the malfunction.

1) The foam dust cover, behind the metal screen, had deteriorated to a point where it had detached itself from the magnet leaving a piece of it about the size of a lady's compact pad to float around on the inside of the speaker.

2) Some of the decomposed foam had been deposited on the armature. (I assume it's the cylinder or cup that vibrates in the centre of the speaker.)

3) There was a 3-inch length of twist tie in the same area of the speaker, inside the screen! Once removed, I attempted to push the tie back through the screen to no avail. Apparently, it had been there since the date of manufacture.

To remedy the situation, the foam pad was removed, the decomposed foam on the armature was cleaned off with some lacquer thinner, and the twist tie was removed.

Now, the amplifier works as it did in 1977.

Edit: Off topic sorry! I posted before thinking @#$@%

I've been using a pair of the Peavey 1203-4 speakers in separate cabinets for 10 years. I think that they are some of the finest speakers that I've ever heard.

Mike can you get NEO magnets for this size and model?
