Tom,
The HSGA convention in Joliet, Illinois should be coming up soon in early October.
It'll be a lot of fun, and you'll get to meet a lot of good steel players who can give you a lot of tips and advice.

Here is the link to the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association. The info for the October convention is listed, as well as some songs posted by the members.

I've also listed a link to the Tiki Terrace up in Des Plaines. Check out their calander for a list of monthly events. Sometimes a steel player will show up at the kanikapila and/or live band karaoke.

Awww...that's too bad! But I'll probably come to HI before you come here ...hopefully soon..I'll let you know.
I may go to HSGA after all, I'm still trying to work it into the budget.
