I have a scratchy Sho Bud volume pedal, an older one that connects to the pedal frame. Any suggestions for repair--new pot? Where do I find one? Thanks for help.

I use the same type volume pedal as you have. Before you get a new pot, the original was a AB type J 500 pot. Turn the pedal over and keep the pedal in the off position. Then take a knife, or sharp object, and pry up 3 or 4 of the metal pot cover tabs. Mark the pot cover, so you can put it back in the same position. After you pry the tabs up a little, use needle nose pliers to bend them straight so you can remove the metal cover. Take some spray contact cleaner, or tuner cleaner, and give it a few squirts. (radio shack has some with a lube in it) work the pedal a few times, while the cleaner is wet. Replace the metal cover and bend the tabs back to the original. If this works, you save the hassle of buying a new pot, and the trouble of re-stringing it. ( on mine, I could only get at 3, of the 4 tabs, but it will still come off as the 4th one will bend enough to remove it. Good luck, Ronnie

If the pot needs replacing contact Tom Bradshaw, the pots he sells work very well and seem to last much longer.
