I arranged a trade of a box of various PSG parts for a vertical knee and other parts for my MSA Classic. When he looked over what I had sent, he included one of his Tab Racks, because the value of what I had sent was more than the parts he sent.

In just a few minutes he sent me an Email which told me
what to purchase, and how to do what I needed to do.
I Emailed him 3 times to pay for it, and and his reply was:

Why would A.J. start this topic? The facts: A.J. needed a pot. Tom sent it, failing to log it in as an order. A.J. sent a check. Tom emailed A.J. asking why the check was sent. A.J. had to explain it to Tom.

Now, why does that make Tom a great guy instead of a very disorganized businessman? Then all you other fellows pile on, with stories that are simply "over the top". If any of you knew the real "Tom B." or had to endure his insufferable verbosity, terminal flatulence, and incoherent babbling, it is doubtful that any of you would do business with the reprobate.

And then the post by Mr. Gibbs. A few years back he was angrily protesting about getting ripped off. His anguish turned Tom into Mr. "Goody Two Shoes," trying to get Gibbs and about 30 others compensation. His reward: "Two Shoes" got sued. "Goody" was noble, but an idiot.

So, forget the praise and describe the little miscreant for what he is: a troublemaker and steel guitar nut with a bizarre sense of humor.

Yes, Tom tried to recover my loss and that of a bunch of other steelers who also got stiffed by a well known. Tom told the truth about the whole thing and they sued Tom. They promised to repay everyone if he apologized. Tom did apologize to no avail. I and most of the others got nothing. To them Tom was a voice to be silenced but to us who were victims of the sordid mess Tom is a hero and his efforts will never be forgotten by me and the others. They still owe me $1650.00.

It is 389 miles from my front door to Tom’s. I know this because I’ve made the drive at least half a dozen times over the years, to have Tom work on my guitars. His work is so exquisitely meticulous that by the time he’s finished, you can eat off the undercarriage. And he never charges as much as his work is worth. I’ve had to argue with him about the price of his services, and force him to take more than he asked for.

Tom’s work is now matched by Dr. Jim Palenscar, who applies his surgical skills to his steel guitar repair work. Given that, plus the fact that Jim’s shop is 300 miles closer, I now use him instead. Choosing between 90 minutes vs. 5 or 6 hours of driving time is a no-brainer. But if Tom and lived an equal distance from me as Jim’s shop, deciding which of them to use would be very difficult.
