I've heard a few people talk about dynamic delay vs just plain delay.
From what I was told dynamic delay will accomplish such tasks as allowing less delay on faster picking and longer delay on slower picking. It is a little more complicated than this probrably but I've never tried it. I have a lexicon mpx1 and I'm not aware if it even has a dynamic delay.
I've been told that a lot of pro's use the TC Eectronic 2290 and a lot of them say it is a key factor in getting the sound they need. As a matter of fact, PF uses one of these I believe in his rig.
From those of you that have experience with this, please feel free to give you opinion. |

Ben, Dynamic, or ducking delay, is when the level of the delayed signal is lowered when you are playing and when you stop playing, the level of the delayed signal comes back up. |

I now found out that many effects processors have this ducking delay already built in them and including the lexicon mpx1. I guess I was thinking that there was something special about the TC Electronics 2290 that puts it aside from other units, but after reading more into this subject I realize that I know very little about it.
However if your a Tc Elec 2290 user, I would like to hear your ideas/opinions. Otherwise please disregard this post. |

It's because it IS special...they have a sound for sure, and the dynamic delay is the best out there. The 2290 has been a staple in Paul Franklin's rack for years, as well as people like The Edge from U2...mine died a couple of years ago--I replaced it with the TC D2, which gets pretty close...dang, I wish you hadn't reminded me...may have to go shopping.... _________________ John Macy
