I know there are several on the electronics forum who don't read "Gone Home" - I'm one of them and just learned of Ted's passing from a friend.
Man, I was just bowled over. Ted was a wonderful mentor and friend to everyone. Not to mention his almost paranormal understanding of "guitar tone" no matter HOW you described what you were seeking. I have Weber speakers, including several that don't have model numbers/names being custom creations Ted had made for my specific needs (at no extra cost - a rare thing these days) in most of my primary live and studio amps.
He'd been ill for quite a while, but I had no idea it was this bad - he never mentioned it. His son T.A. has learned from the master and Weber Speakers will still carry Ted's influence. But the "heart" is gone.

Same here, Jim! I was chocked to hear that Ted had passed away. Just like you, I have several custom Weber speakers that Ted built for me without asking for any extra compensation. For several years, I was also a Weber dealer (speakers, attenuators and components) in Sweden. Also here he was very generous in helping my customers find their special solutions.
Such persons are rare in this business, and will be missed.

I was so devastated to hear of the passing of Ted Weber!!! He and I swapped emails many times, and i recently bought a Blue Dog and Silver Bell 12" speakers for a amp rebuild i was doing, and a G12M(his version of the Celestion Green Back). I didnt know of his passing until i logged into PSG forum. May he rest in peace and his talents will be sorely missed by all of us. God Bless Ted...your making sweet sounds in heaven now!! _________________ "Steel players are like fine wine, we get better with age" |
