Here's a recent interview with The Commander.

Very interesting for someone like me, who cut their teeth on this stuff. The West Virginia Creeper is briefly mentioned.

Hey Joey - thanks for mentioning me. I had a great time playing with CC&LPA when we left Michigan and came to Berkeley in 1969. It was a great time to come from the midwest and catch the end of the psychedelic 60's. I never tried to "be the Commander" as Frayne states in the video. I left the band mostly because of divergent musical preferences. Cody never has anything positive to say about my contribution to his band. He was mad and defensive when I left. Part of the excitement of his early band was the inclusion of an almost unknown instrument (in the 60's rock scene), the pedal steel guitar.
