Hi Mr Sam. We had a very good meeting/jam this past Saturday and Sunday. Attendance wasn't the record setter we wanted but those that there had a great time. Chuck Campbell and his brother Sam were there and Chuck along with his laptop and band in a box helped us along when tracks weren't available. Glen Lanning was elected to be the new President and Ken Latchum was elected to be the Vice-President.
Clyde Mattox came in Sunday and played some off of his new CD. Remember US95 South will bring you to any of our jams. |

I was there on Sunday, and it was a great time; the one and only Clyde Mattocks was there, and played some from his new CD; what a talent...also Chuck Campbell was there playing great, plus Glen Lanning who is sounding better each show; lots of other good players, including some first performances by Johnny Barham (great licks) and Vann Cranford (sounding real good), and first time set up by Larry Hilliard...Kenny Dail is a pro and sets a high standard...Larry Villa is unbelievable - uses a straight pick, and can tear it up. Anyone who missed it missed a lot!! See you next time... |

Hey Sam:
We missed you and Anna at the two day Jam in Tarboro NC. Russ and Betty Kerns came all the down from PA to be with us. You better be practicing, Russ is really working hard on that instrument of his. Russ is really coming along and even played several times at the Jam for everybody. You know what these Jams do for you Sam! You have been to enough of them to know, everybody comes to encourage you and to help you. They don't come to condem you for making mistakes. Also I want you to know that Ray Walker has those Shakes down to 0-zip now. Remember when he first got started playing infront of everybody. He's Mr. Smooth now. Anybody that misses a MASGA Jam regardless where it is, sure missing an opportunity to improve their playing ability and having a great time.
Yep Glen took over the reins but he didn't let me go too far. Everyone thought we would make a good team!! Maybe now I will get that Beautiful Ole SD-10 Marlen out and play with you guys some now. We Have lots of MC help now. We got Ray,Glen,Skip,Chuck, and others that can step in now and keep the show rolling.
Every one needs to attend a MASGA Jam if you haven't done so yet, also All members need to continue your Support of your organization. (After all it was formed just for you)
Regards
Ken Latchum

Sam you would not believe how much Ray Walker has improved. If he would only devote some time to practice instead of flooding the market with those fabulous Walker pac-a-seats, he could be a greaat player. Mary and sent our best to you and Anna.

I have the MASGA web site partially updated. You won't believe how long it takes to learn the process. Please send me an email if anyone has info they would like published.
Some pictures from the Tarboro (July 31st) jam are published - I'm looking for more because it looks like I am missing a few. If any MASGA members have a picture of someone that was left out, please email it to me in JPG format and I will make sure it gets on there.
I will be constantly changing the site so check back often.
We are trying to get a jam organized in September (Wilson) and I have requested info on the Kannoplis, NC jam in November.
