Have heard of the Franklin Pedal. and was watching a steel player on Utube and he mentioned the Franklin pedal [which he had mounted to the left of the A pedal] just what latitude does this pedal give to the steel player and is it a standard string function for any one who has one installed?

Check out p4:
http://b0b.com/tunings/franklin.htm

I've also seen it without the string 10 B --A lower.

I have that pull split between two pedals, one of which has the G# --F# and the string 10 B --A and the other pedal has the string 5 B --A lower (with a half stop at the Bb, thanks Jim Palenscar!)

The pull I use most with those pedals isn't the classic Franklin pedal (I'm working on learning how use it). So I can't help you there, but right now I mostly use the --F# release pedal slowly to G# to get a similar sound as holding down the B pedal and slowly engaging the A pedal.

It's more fun if you call it "The Franklin Drop," (and that phrase might turn up some search results, too.)
