Hi all.
Me and the family are coming to the US in september, (run for your lives!) doing the whole disney thing in the sunshine state of Florida. Can't wait.
Whilst I'm over, it would be churlish of me not to visit at least one decent Pedal steel shop, if only for the expirience. I'm staying in the Davenport area of orlando. Hope somebody can help.
Thanks
Jason

Johnny Bonds up in Wildwood is the only one I've found. He'll have a 10 string set up and will talk steel guitar with you as long as you want. Larry

It's "Bondz Music" on route US301 in Wildwood. From Davenport drive north on US27 to Leesburg and then go west on State Route 44 to Wildwood. Turn right (north) on US301 and Bondz music is about 3/4 mile north on the right side.

Johnny occasionally has a used steel for sale and is also a Peavey dealer. Go during the week as he closes early on Saturday's.

I will get my two cents worth in here too. We are now moving to Florida after spending the winters there since 2005.

We are about 10 miles from Wildwood and have been to Johnny Bondz great store a few times. You won't meet a nicer person to talk Steel with than Johnny. Smile

One other note, Sept 12th will be our Florida Steel Guitar Club's 7th Anniversary jam. If you are in Florida during that time you are invited to visit us. We are about 10 miles from Bondz Music.

A map and more info is on our web site.

Deland Music, in Deland, is only about 40 minutes north of Orlando. Stop in there and see Dave Peddicord. He's a great player and they may have a couple of steels for sale. If nothing else, he can certainly tell you "where the action is" in that area.

You Guys are too kind! thanks for the offer, but I'm not in Florida till the 21st, sadly. I'll sure give that store a go, though. Thanks.
