Pity we can't hear more of Terry on Youtube. He's one of the best.

Perhaps someone's got some videos they could dig out?

Would also like to see some clips of Mike Smith (Dreams of India) He's another "great" who doesn't get the attention he deserves.

I met Terry back 199something at the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair, when He was playing for Ricky Skaggs. I don't know how he is today, but Back then He seemed like a real nice gentleman. I got the chance to speak to him on the midway. Him and Bobby Hicks. I wonder how Bobby is doing, because the last time I saw Ricky Skaggs; someone else was playing fiddle. I have tried to play the fiddle; it sounded like the first time I when I sat behind my steel. I can only do a few Bob Wills songs, and that's it.
They are two class acts.

Terry has a great right hand technique. Take a look at his right hand when he is pickin. Very similar to a very famous steel player. Jody.

RAy, dont feel too bad because that Derby Terry plays is actually blue, not black! The pickups he has in it were given to him by Buddy Emmons. Theyre the pickups from the blade. Ive got to play the blue derby quite a few times, and let me tell you, that guitar has it!

Thanks, Brett. I really am happy with my Blue Derby.
About those pickups--are they single coil?
I take it you're Terry's brother?

Brett, could you confirm something for me? I was told that Terry had dropped the low C string off of his C6th and moved the strings 7, 8 & 9 down to the 8th, 9th & 10 slots. And then put a D string in position 7. Is there any truth to this? Thanks...JH in Va.
