She's one of those vocalists who doesn't sound like anyone else! In our band my wife does "Somewhere Tonight". I love trying to do those steel licks to that tune...... Congrats on the gig Stu....JH in Va.

One of the most amazing voices in country music. She could tour constantly if she wanted to. Where has she been?

Jerry,"Somewhere Tonight" is my favorite,I almost wore out my MP3 player learning those licks,so many ways to play it.Theresa thanks I hope we get out Alaska this winter?Kevin she's been with her family in Wasilla home of our ex Gov. Sarah Palin. She has an amazing ear and her rhythm guitar playing is second to non,and she's fun,I feel very lucky to be doing this.

Stu, you are lucky cat. There is only one female country singer that I like as much as Patty Loveless, and thats Paulette Carlson. She has a voice like the moutain wind. Haunting and beautiful. Will she be touring the east coast. She is revered here.

Yup, that's a dream gig for sure! I remember when Highway 101 and Randy Travis were big, back in the early '90s. I always thought that was such a treat to have Randy's "throwback" traditional sound balanced by the raw energy of Paulette and her band, whose sound brought echoes of a newness I hadn't heard since Buck Owens came on the scene.

Yeah, that was the last of really good country music, IMHO.

Ugh! Are you serious? I can't stand her voice. Mad It grates on my nerves just like Dolly Parton's voice. Oh well, one man's pleasure is another man's pain.

Stu, I sure do envy you. Paulette can sing anything, any kind of music. I know, because I heard her before any of you.

Ask her if she remembers singing "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane, "High Flying Bird" by We Five, and "Sinner Man" by Bobby Darren.

And a half crazy guitarplayer with a blue Mosrite Combo XII.

Stu congrats on the great gig. For sure, Paulette has that distinct voice that sets her apart from the crowd. My favorite by highway 101 was always Somewhere tonight

Stu,
I missed the gig by one night! I sure had a good time hanging out with you the night before. That Desert Rose you've got is a killer, and you sure know how to play it.

A forum member posts a nice pic of himself & a great lady singer that he's so exited about playing steel with & a long list of others agree that they also love her voice & one character has to come on & say, I can't stand her voice, Congratulations Stu, Paulette is a great singer & had a long list of great songs that sold a ton! I'm sure there are lot more on here than myself that are very proud of you Stu, I'd love to hear you & Paulette do those great songs! kr

It would appear to me she does not look at that the steel player. Don't you think she could have found a better looking player.

Just joking. Congratulations. I know you will enjoy that gig and do that Desert Rose proud.

Mickey,If we make it anywhere close to Dallas you will be the first person that I call.Jon Hyde you taught me a cool side road using my vertical the other night...And I thought that I was to stupid to learn.Players in Seattle keep and eye on Jon Hyde he's got great hands and he's got one of those minds that's gonna bring the steel guitar to a whole other audience.Jon Light thanks my Brooklyn Bro.Joe Naylor,First I hope your doing better after surgery,I think that she was trying to get Peter Griffin "Family Guy" but lost a bet and got me instead...don't I make some kinda prize.Leslie you don't have to like her voice,You probably wouldn't like me either...I'm just a guy who grew up in a City housing project in Queens N.Y. and taught myself how to play a few instruments when everyone said I wouldn't be able to do...So I'm having a wonderful ride.Laughing
