You need to do a bit of research and reading before posting a reply, Ben's ad was 74 Emmons Push/Pull Reissue 8x5 Lacquer, he could not have described it any clearer

| Push Pulls were not discontinued until the mid 1980's and "reissues" were first offered from Emmons in 2004 |

Well, I am confused as well. Is it a '74 Emmons Push/Pull REFINISH 8X5 Laquer?
Not trying hijack the thread, but some of the follow up posts seemed a little uncalled for. |

NOPE. Never put any guitar together. Just make adjustments. Never worked for Emmons. So I've never left. Not sure what this is about. I have to be away. But I'll check in later. 
Edit. I wrote this on the way out the door.And misread the question.
I have never put any guitar together from scratch.Nor would I try. Could I reassemble one. Yes.
Did, I clean the changer and shorten the compression springs on several crossbars? Yes. Are the crossbars now lose and ready to fall out. No of course not. They have just a little play as they should.

I never asked. I would assume the person that polished the undercarriage. The seller told me he didn't play C6th. So I knew the changer would not be tuned. But neither was the E9. The only guitar I've ever bought that was not out of adjustment be it push pull or all pull. Was from Larry Petree. But Larry's and old pro.
It's my opinion. That the large percentage of the nice guitars that are sold. Are sold because the owner has the tuning out of whack. On the push pulls, most fingers arn't pulling firm against the stop.The C pedal 4th string whole tone raise and then the half tone lower. Really throws them for a loop. I'm finding the same problems with the Zum Hybrids. The primary pulls pull firm against a block. And should release firm against a metal screw much like a P/p. Out of 4. None, were tuned out that way. They had been tunned like and all pull. And for the all pulls.Most are over tuned in several places.And if they've been reroded? It's what ever hole in the bell-crank that's easiest to get to.
Sorry for the ramble. Chris brought this up. I have no idea why.Since he's not buying. But no. I didn't put it together after the refinish. But I could if I needed to. However, I could never polish one like this.

Bobby, to your point, I bring it up because I have two players who have asked me to find them lacquer Emmons guitars, and one in particular does not want a guitar that you have worked on. It is that simple. So, we are trying to establish if you worked on this guitar and are still trying to wade through the double talk. |

Interesting, Why would this person not just place a Wanted to Buy add ? And neither have you? Oh well, Whatever you say. Anyway,, I've done the most to this one I've ever done to one. Exceptions being my personal guitars which aren't for sale. So you can cross this one off your list.

This same confusion about reissues comes up in the guitar world. Many times I've heard players talk about their '62 Telecaster... which is NOT a 1962 tele, but a new reissue of a 1962 tele. Or their '57 Strat... Not a 1957 Strat, but a new reissue of a 1957 Strat.
The serial numbers clearly show that these are recent guitars, but the model names are confusing, like '62 Telecaster. The players only add to the confusion when they say "my '57 Strat"

Is there a password or something from there? I see another photo, a price, an email address. Are we supposed to email Emmons for more information?
Are they new guitars assembled from old parts stock? New instrument/new parts in the old 1974 style? If so, we have 2009 "1974" Emmonses? |

| They are made from left-over bodies that have been sitting around in the Emmons factory for 25+ years. The bodies are weather checked (like a lot of 25 year old guitars are), which is why some people like to refinish them. The undercarriage is mostly made from new parts. The undercarriage has not been polished, that's the way it came from the builder. Supposedly Emmons still has quite a few N.O.S. bodies, when they get enough orders for the reissues, they make a batch. |

I have a guitar similar to this that I purchased from Lynn Stafford.....mine is not all polished up and has the original style pedals and not the LeGrande style pedals.
It's a great guitar and I really enjoy it!!!! |

| I've got one (D-10 circa '74/02), and I love it. It's polished underneath and original finish topside, which looks great, warts and all. it did need quite a bit of set up work though, it wasn't assembled too well. |

I'm glad you're enjoying your Emmons! I sure did when I owned it. Mike now owns the very first D-10 reissue #001R. For those that aren't aware, they are virtually the same as an original, as they used an original cabinet and NOS parts, except for the LeGrande key heads and pedals. As for the pedals on Mikes guitar, I swapped the LeGrande pedals out for the original cast ones because of my own personal preference.
This guitar of Ben's looks fantastic and I'm sure it would be a real joy to own
