I have a Johnny Bush "14 Greatest Hits" CD, and while I admire all the steel on the whole CD, I am particularly drawn to the steel work on the # 14 cut "Put Me Out Of My Memory", (which I believe may also be on the Johnny Bush "Live" CD).
Can anyone enlighten me as to whom the steel player might be on this cut?
Many Thanks, J.J.

That CD contains recordings Johnny did about 40 years ago in Nashville. I think Pete Drake was the producer and always assumed he played most or all of the steel.

I have the original vinyl LP on Delta. Steelers listed are Jim Baker, Jimmy Day, Buddy Emmons, Dicky
Overby and Rick Price. "Put Me Out of my Memory"
sounds like classic Emmons to me.

Thanks, Clyde. The hodgepodge of source sessions plus rerecords can make player IDing a little more challenging.

I wish someone would put up the whole track in question; fragmented samples are all I can find online.

Jimmy Day was on that 1967 album.

I am not sure who the steeler is on "Put Me Out Of Your Memory", but I think Rick Price told me a couple of years ago that it was Buddy Emmons. Sounds like Emmons to me.
