My family and I will be vacationing in Nashville this Saturday, staying until Thursday. Can any one recommend some places for my Wife and Sons to go (all musicians) to see some of the Nashville talent while we visit. We have a night booked at the Opry. I was hoping to see some of the local acts as well like the Time Jumpers or other local talent. Any suggestions?
A bit off topic, but any favorite places to eat would be cool as well. Thanks Folks. Really looking forward to our trip to Nashville and hearing some great music.

I'll be playing with Dave Peterson on Saturday night at "The Family Wash". Andy Reiss from the Timejumpers will be on guitar this time around and we get lots of room to stretch out and play; it's a really fun gig!
Great food too and family friendly; A little off the beaten path but only about 10 minutes from downtown...

Doug Jernigan should be playing in a band Wednesday night around 7 at coach's grill in Murfreesboro. It's just about 30 minutes from downtown Nashville. |

In my opinion you can hear better music and great pickers on Broadway than at the Opry. DYK?BC. _________________ Hard headed, opinionated old geezer. BAMA CHARLIE. GOD BLESS AMERICA. ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST. SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC ! |

Listen on Broadway for Mike Sweeney, Kevin Owens, Eddie Lange, Tommy Hanum, or Vic Lawson and you won't be disappointed!
Monday with The Time Jumpers and Saturday with Pete and Andy are obvious choices. _________________ Scott Shipley Facebook |

Monty Good and the Honky Tonk Heroes will be at the Wheel (on Broadway) on Saturday. They feature a bunch of Nashville studio guys, play the "classic" style, and pretty much blow the doors off the place whenever they play.. _________________ GFI Ultra D-10 8x5/Sarno Freeloader/Telonics volume pedal/Fender Super Six Split Cab with a 1x15 BW |

Take I65 North to Trinity Lane, turn East (right) and go to Gallatin Road, turn North (left) for one block to McGavock Pike, turn East (right) and go approximately one mile to Riverside. Bailey and Cato's will be on your left a half a block before Riverside.
It's really amazing food. Best catfish in town.
Here's a description worded better than I could.

Wednesday July 29 @ Douglas Corner 9:30 - 11:30 pm Mike Johnson and his band "45 RPM" (You'll hear Classic 70's Country done right!) Don't miss it, they only play there once a month! You will enjoy it. I promise.

Thanks for mentioning Bobbe. I almost forgot. I need a new Bell Crank too. I can save on some shipping.
We tried Jacks Barbeque today. It was excellent! Smoked Barbeque at it's best. My family and I loved it! Reasonable too!
Saw Tommy White and several other steel players at the Opry tonight. Great pickin. Just wish I wasn't in the nose bleed section. Didn't affect the sound though. Everything sounded nice.
Thanks again for all of the posts! Looking forward to visting Broadway, and as many of the other suggestions as we can. You folks are really helping make our trip to Nashville a fun and fruitful one.
God Bless.

Across the street from Jack's Barbeque is a Broadway Club called "The Wheel" which will be inhabitated by Country Music Lovers from 6 to 10 pm Sunday. I think you'd enjoy the band. I know the steel player personally, and Jeff Garris on guitar, Johnny Carpenter on Fiddle, Cotton Payne on drums, Big Gage on Bass and Seth Hopkins singin' the classics. |

Loren,
Gregg will be subbing for Steve Hinson July 29th. Stop by Douglas Corner to hear some down home country.
I'm excited to hear the band for the first time. It's also Gregg's birthday! |
