2009 Portland "Pickernic" Cancelled.....

It's been a yearly event for a couple years, starting after a couple friends died, and it was designed to have "us" meet at other than "wakes" or "services"..

Turns out there are people that are not going to come if other people come, that there shouldn't be anybody there that's "not a musician", or that's not directly invited by one (that the 'host' likes)... or promises not to have any requests, or dance, be somebody that Mary doesn't like.... or.....somebody that did prison time, or....

Just too much squabbling among the "living"...

Musicians are funny creatures. Best just playing music..

Hey Eric, it's been a long time since I've posted in this forum and it's been just as long since I said howdy to you!

I'm sorry but I'm not surprised that your get together was canceled due to negative vibes amongst folks but I will say this I'm sorry that you guys missed a chance to have fellowship mixed in with some good old country music and probably some good hamburgers and dogs.

Folks will never change (and yes I'm a folk too) but it's been that way since the beginning so keep your chin up and try to find something else fun to do on that day and you will be the winner!
