Interesting article. The kid did a nice experiment.

Do you really think the BBC News Magazine would lie about who wrote an article? I've known some very bright kids. I don't think it's far fetched at all.

I've just never heard a 13-year-old use words like
"aesthetically", "cumbersome","impromptu" or "plethora".
I sure didn't when I was 13! 
Evidently this kid has his own news website, Net News Daily, so I guess he's not your average bear!
He's to be commended on his mastery of the language, but the end result of his skillful writing in this case is that it actually distracted this reader, cuz I was thinking the whole time "c'mon... THIS is a 13-year-old???"
Maybe things are different in the UK!
Anyway... just an observation. (It's rare to be distracted by GOOD writing; so often I'm distracted by LOUSY writing!)

Just as there are musical prodigies, some people have a natural talent for language. My daughter, for example, is a fantastic writer and speaks several language well. If she had been exposed to a larger vocabulary at home  , I have no doubt that she could have written an article like this at 13.

This statement makes me laugh. 30 years from now what the kid thinks is cutting edge today will be tomorrows "Walkman" and some other kid will be saying "I can't believe they used to use such rudimentary devices".

I'm wondering why (with all the advances in memory devices) we still have hard drives in computers! 
Having a motor in a computer seems sorta like having a wick in an L.E.D., doesn't it? |
