Pulled out some CCR today,been awhile since I listened to them,DAMN were'nt they good. Still sound as fresh as they did decades ago.We play several several of their tunes,but we don't do them justice.Hard to beat the REAL DEAL, DYK?BC.

| Yup, they were great. Just clean old-school rock and roll, but the influence of country music was always obvious. A lot of their tunes sound more countrified to me than a lot of what passes for country music these days, and lay nicely on the pedal steel - we've done a bunch of them. |

One of the most popular bands of the 1970 era, and also greatly underrated as rockers to this day. Here is an example of how they could take a simple song and make it incredible - Woodstock/I Put A Spell On You - www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT_r6WTmgJI
This and two other CCR tunes will be on the new Woodstock DVD that has many other groups and songs that didn't make the original movie. The whole set should be released but Fogerty didn't think they were good that night and wouldn't allow anything in the film. Just this song's inclusion alone would have given them a lifetime of big time cred with those who mistakenly thought they weren't heavy. |

Love the Woodstock footage! A non-nonsense white boogie band in a time of flower-power flakiness. Some of the first songs I learned on guitar were CCR tunes. I think it's fitting and symbolic that the audience was asleep during their performance, given the now-historical setting and cultural significance it holds. CCR mixed a fun-loving sound with dark, foreboding undertones. A very interesting and underrated rock band, with a messy legacy of legal trouble, particularly John Fogerty getting sued in the '80s for sounding too much like himself (due to other people owning the rights to the CCR material at the time).
This new Revisited band (with the orginal rhythm section) is a bit sad. Without John, there is no CCR. It's nothing but a jaded rhythm section paying their mortgages with John's hard-earned musical legacy.
