I just bought tickets for our band to go see Marty Stuart in November. Do you know who his steel guitar player is on the road. Tks....Bob |

Gary Carter, the steel player on Marty's show is actually a member of Connie Smith's backup band. If it is a package show, Gary should be present. |

Marty and his band are a 4 piece band and they are great !
As mentioned, the TV show has Gary Carter playing on many of the tunes but Gary is not a member of the Superlatives, he is a Sundowner. |

I've saw him several times on the Marty Stuart show but have yet to hear him play. He looks good on camera but no volume at all. I had a little round of e-mails with RFD and someone from Martys fan club and was more of less told to stick it in my ear. I didn't know what I was talking about! _________________ Les Green

While backing Connie Smith, especially on ballads, on most numbers he comes through nicely. When Marty's group is featured however, it seems that the energy (read that volume) level seems to increase to the point that the steel at times is barely audible. |

Bob, Marty doesn't have steel in his touring show. Just a four-piece bluegrass outfit: Marty on guitar/mando, along with another acoustic guitarist, drummer on brushed snare (Harry Stinson!!), and standup bass. They all sing. The Superlatives. They played here last year and were truly phenomenal. I did not miss the steel at all. They are coming here as well on the same tour you are seeing, and I am definitely going again. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars
