The title says it all!

Short version of long story: drummer/bandleader thought he'd do me a big favor and buy a steel to leave at where we practice so I wouldn't have to lug one of mine around. Even after several explanations (and I play mostly B6-tuned 8 string Fenders) he bought a ZB - which I get to figure out how to make work for me.

Yikes.

-bump-

Does ANYONE have a source for changer rods (that sorta look like bent spokes) and the single-piece turnbuckles?

I'm stalled on fixing the back neck until I can find someplace to get these.

B. Greg Jones is kinda outta commission for a while (see Our Extended Family and Steel Players for details), but Kevin Hatton and Billy Knowles are two other ZB-restoration uber-experts here on the Forum.

Bump...

I've had a few replies that have been quite helpful - but does any one know if these rods *start* with some kind of stock spoke? That would make if far easier on everyone!

Thanks-

Jim
It is my understanding they were motorcycle spokes. I have looked and looked and can not find any, I have a few but I feel sure Greg has as many as you need. I have begun to bend the rods into a "J" and that works just fine. I have some turnbuckles also if you need any. I have seen a lot of different turnbuckles. Some were 6/32 both ends right hand thread, some were 6/32 with one end right and the other end left hand thread, some were 6/40 right and left hand thread. Some were alum, most were steel.
Thanks
BIlly

Like Billy (as per the other thread)I bend a 'J' in 1/8" rod, it is available in ample quantities for my steel stockist, filing either side of the rod first so that it leaves plenty clearance at the changer I then go right to the cross bar end and thread that with a 4BA die that gives me all the adjustment I need

Have you tried "LINKON STEEL". Wayne Link has all kind of old stock and makes new parts. Real nice man to talk to. He might have what youre looking for.

Jim -
If you can get some actual physical
dimensions from the seller, there
may possibly be some potential
in this auction.
