Wow – what a terrific day at the 13th Annual Rocky Mountain Steel Guitar Show!
The event was sponsored by Dick Meis’s Rocky Mountain Steel Guitar Club & KRFC Radio in Fort Collins.
All the performers sounded great and everyone was having a good time.
It would take too long to mention everyone so I’ll say one big thank you to all who participated whether by performing or in a supportive role, and everyone I had a chance to hear or meet yesterday.

Marc

btw -- Dick invited me to perform on next year’s show, and I’m already excitedly looking forward to it.

Here are a dozen pictures of the day.
(I hope they appear in the order I’m labeling them)

Chris Kennison with Book ‘Em Danno
Chuck Lettes

George Sypert
Snaz Wall (using both feet on the pedals)
Chris & EP from KRFC Radio & Lois
Dick’s lovely wife Lois Lane singing & playing bass

Man, I was sorry to miss this one--I had a gig on the Denver Post Frontier Days train to Wyoming and back...crazy gig--load in at 6AM, then play 7-10AM on the ride up...hit the rodeo and then play on the way back...

Next year...Smile

Wish I could have been there too, for the show.

Hey John Macy, you should have come up to the head end of the same train you were riding on Saturday, I was the Engineer. I did not know you were on board, or I would have come back when we got to Cheyenne and said Hi.

Great Pictures Marc, thanks.

My thanks to Dick Meis, Lois Lane and the Rocky Mtn Steel Guitar Club for inviting me to be a part of this great show. All of the players were excellent and it was a privilege to play with this house band: all great players. Special thanks to Bob and Lisa Case for helping to arrange my visit and for the great hospitality, and to Bob for playing bass on my set (great solo on that last tune, Bob!) I enjoyed seeing lots of old friends and making a bunch of new ones. And, in the end, that's what it's all about, IMHO. So, once again, many thanks and I hope to see you all again before too long.

Best,
Jimbeaux

Yes, I understand the show was great! I didn't get to the show until about 12:30 and had to leave aboaut 3:00 so I missed almost all of the players. I got a lot of nice comments about my playing and especially about my tone and bar slants. I reluntly did not use the drummer. My reasoning for doing that was all the tunes that I play were recorded without a drummer. Of course I missed the drums but my playing is more authenic without them. I am so thankful that I was amongst friends as I got lost a couple of times and messed the arrangements up a little bit. I am probably the only players that can make mistakes like that and get away with it! Some people expect me to make mistakes so I don't dissappoint them. Ha!

I want to thank Dick for allowing me to play on his show each year and thanks to Chuck Lettes for allowing me to use his sound equipment and staying with me until we dialed in the sound that I like. Tnanks to Dr. Wayne Yakes for his help and especially for his friendship to me. I apologize to all the players that I didn't get to hear as I understand that they were all excellent players. And expecially to Jim Cohen, Dick Meis, Fred Justice and Del Mullen as I really wanted to catch their set. If I don't see all of you in St. Louis at the International Steel Guitar Convention then I will see you next year in Denver at the Rocky Mountain Steel Guitar Show. Scotty
