I've got a hunch--and I could be way off base--that you picked up a $99 Crate Powerblock and need a speaker for mono use. Close? I just played a show with a Powerblock driving an 8 ohm Weber California ceramic in a Marrs cab. Even though the Cali is rated at 80 watts, the Crate, when kept clean with gain only about halfway up doesn't come anywhere near those 150 watts. It worked great and sounded decent (Dan Echo & Holy Grail in the loop). I don't have anything for sale and I apologize for this hijacking. Especially if I'm wrong about your intentions.

Get an EV 15L or an EV SRO (15")--they are rated 200 watts at 8 ohms, and very clean sounding speakers. If you can find one, an EV 15B is rated 400 watts at 8 ohms. I had Woody Woodell recone my 15B, and it's a beautiful sounding speaker. Gobs of headroom. I have it in my Peavey Data bass amp, and it sounds killer for bass as well as steel. The 1502 that was stock in the Data bass was too middy for me, and would crap out about half volume. The Data bass is a 450 watt amp. The 15B smokes the 1502.

David, check out the Carvin catalog. On the back cover they have speakers pictured that you can get very reasonable. I bought a couple of Celestion 12" speakers for a little over $150 for both, including shipping........JH in Va.

Guys, thanks for the input!

Jon, you are 100% correct about the Crate power amp. I actually got away from using all the rack stuff, but for the price of the amp I figure I can put together a small portable setup for backup. Now if you can just tell me the winning lottery numbers?
Thanks,
Dave

I've got a pair of EVM 15Ls that I had on the forum before. Possibly reconed.
I think I was asking 150.00 for the pair. Probably spit the pair if you only want one.
Let me know if interested, and I of course will pay a donation to the forum.

You can close this one up. Looks like Lefty has the speakers I need. Never tried the EV speakers so I hope I will be happy with the sound. Thanks for the input!
