Interesting ? Chris. I'll try to find out from Tom Baker and post a reply. I'm also trying to dig up the picture that shows Jimmy's name on the front. Bob (the owner) had the name taken off when he got the steel and had his name put on. In preparation to sell the steel, Bob took his name off. |

Let's see. Jimmy Days' name is on the steel and he took it off to put his own name on it........ |

I have this exact same model Sierra steel in the same color! Love mine. I knew Bob when I lived in the Portland area. Yes he had his name his steel! Even played a gig with him in The Dalles, Oregon and I am sure that was the same steel he used back then. I remember him telling me that Sierra had built that for Jimmy Day. |

For clarification:
When Bob (the present owner) bought this steel, he had Jimmy Day's name taken off. After Jimmy's name was removed, Bob had his (Bob's) name put on the steel. Now that Bob has decided to sell the steel, he has had his (Bob's) name taken off the steel. Whew!
I believe that makes sense. If not, I need to go to remedial writing and composition class.
Respectfully submitted,

It is odd that I now remember that steel after all these years. I never felt comfortable with a double neck until I sat behind that very steel up in the Dalles. I thought it fit like a glove and played like a dream. Well I ended up buying that same model and color steel just recently from the estate of Jennings Ward with the intent of cleaning it up a bit and selling it later. I sat down and it was just that same experience again! I sold my U12 and now am a first time double neck owner. |

Out of all of the steels I've played which have been over a dozen that I recall Sierra has to be one of the smoothest, quietest, most comfortable steels I've ever played. The tone & sustain are also remarkable! This is a good deal on a great steel & it has some really cool history behind it! Someone will get a good deal here, and will be very satisfied. _________________ Benjamin Turner |

Hi Doug,
I think I told you that I purchased a red D10 Sierra from Buddy Fite, Portland jazz guitar legend way back around 1978. At that time, Buddy didn't have the time to work with me, and the only thing I was aware of was Winnie Winston's book, which I tried to follow. I finally sold Bud's Sierra and gave it all up for frustration after a few months. I didn't come back to the pedal steel again until a little over 3 yrs. ago. I did see that steel one more time, but have no idea where it eventually went.
Take care Bro!
