TSGA's staff guitarist of 25 years, Leon Chambers, has been diagnosed with colon cancer. Due to his weakened state he is not presently a candidate for surgery.

His many friends are holding a benefit for him on July 19th at Southern Junction in Rockwall, TX (just east of Dallas). Here's a flyer with details. Take a look at the lineup. Some of Texas' finest will be there to show their support. Please consider stopping by if you can -- Leon and Sarah need our support and prayers...

How about an address where those of us who can't attend but would like to contribute could do so.

I was hoping someone would put the word out on this. Nice. I'll be in town at that time and will stop by.

Leon has been a great friend for a long time...wish I were closer to attend, but too many miles. I will be sending a donation to Albert Talley of the TSGA, and I'll bet others could do the same!@! God Bless You Leon!

Steve,

I'm trying to find out if there is an official mailing address for contributions but I would think you could definitely send one to TSGA c/o Albert. Also, you might contact Bruce Hendley at 903.473.6247 for more information. When I get an address I'll post it here.

Thanks for thinking of Leon.

It's with heavy heart that I can't be there for this great show of love and appreciation for our friend Leon Chambers. I'll be is Southwest Lousianna working a show but Barbara and I will make our donation by mail to Albert Talley. We pray that Our Lord will confort and heal Leon and we invite everyone to join us in prayer for Leon and also his wonderful wife Sarah.

I made a copy of the flyer and placed it in the Country Music Store in Texarkana. I know of four from this area that plan to go.
