Great singer. His duets with Don Reno cemented my love for country; listen to "Almost To Reno" and the cut "Hello Mister Bottle." May he rest in Peace. Don D.

Sorry to hear this. I remember him from the TV show he did with Don Reno. It was broadcast on one of the Washington DC TV stations.

Scott,

I didn't know about Bill. I worked a few shows with him, when I was with Del McCoury. I saw him almost every weekend for a long time. We played a lot of the same festivals in the northeast.

If I ever meet you remind me to tell you a Bill Harrell, Don Reno story. I can't tell it here in the family setting. Jerry McCoury told me about it. You know he worked with Reno and Smiley and also Reno and Bill.

Bill was a nice guy. Really fun to be around. RIP

I met Bill in Fairfax Va. while he was was with Don Reno. I had been seeing them on their weekly live TV show, but when I heard they were playing near my home, I had to go. Great band. I sat right next to their steel player, Don West. I was amazed at the steel guitar. Little did I know that night I would own that very steel next year and begin this adventure in the steel guitar world.

Bill had a true love of the music you don't see alot today. I'll miss him.

Doug
