I am trying to hook my lexicon mpx 100 up with my tonic. Does anyone remember how to set these units up in parallel so I can see if these units are compatible. I have read the manual & it isn't very clear to me.
Jim
Thanks in advance
If this will not work can someone recommend the best unit that will work for in a rack. I love the verb in my tonic but sometimes use delay also! |

I don't have a Tonic, but I've always had good luck putting the MPX-100 in series between the preamp and power amp. Preamp out to mono input of MPX, then stereo outs of MPX into a stereo power amp. I put Mix on "Dry" and set the Input knob to match the output of the preamp, and from then on I use the MPX-100 Output knob to control the overall volume of the rig.
Then I bring up the Mix control to add the MPX effects. I have half a dozen presets that I've added to the User bank so that I don't have to hunt around for the right sounds on stage. The biggest problem with the MPX-100 is that you must use the manual to find the sounds you want in advance. There's no display and there are a lot of options. It sounds fantastic, but I couldn't use it without my presets in the User bank. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

Jim,
since connecting to the rear loop on the Tonic will disable the internal reverb, you should try the Lexicon after the Tonic's output, and from there go onward to your power amp. That way you can still use the Tonic's reverb, and any of the Lexicon's effects. This may also help you address the gain matching issue you mentioned with the NV400. You can bring the gain down to an appropriate level with the Lexicon.
Let us know how this works out.
