I recently acquired a Danelectro Dan-Echo unit. I am really impressed!! I have it between my Hilton pedal and my NV400 amp. Little bit of reverb and a little bit from this pedal and wow, what a difference!! So far I like this better than using my POD XT to add reverb and some echo/delay. Also not too big, fits in my pac-a-seat.

I may not sound good, I just don't wanna sound bad. |

I've been using a Dan-Echo for almost 10 years with my Peaveys.
Sweet echo almost like the old tape echos of years past!.

I too bought one recently. My only problem with it is that I get the sound I like and then a few days later I have difficulty getting the same sound. The reason is that the controls are very sensitive, and it's easy to put a lot more effects on than you want.
But it's a great unit. |

I used one for a while, but it developed a problem with the input and output jacks. They would break up the signal when jiggled, and sometimes the whole thing would bark at me out of nowhere. Noisy as well. I think it's a good-sounding unit, but will not survive a whole lot of road use. The jacks are plastic, and overall it's a cheaply-constructed unit. If you carry it in its box, and treat it well, it would probably hold up for a while. But the Boss units are more durable and dependable for frequent use and travel. The price point of the Dan-Echo reflects this inferior quality. Too bad, really, because they do nail that old echo sound pretty darn good.
Keep an ear out for problems with your signal. It may be this unit. A friend of mine just hauled one off his board because it had been giving his signal a noise problem. He had changed out other things before isolating this pedal as the problem. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars
