I use a PC running WindowsXP Pro.
I like my desk top the way it is.
There is a pop up that says "windows can remove icons
you don't use".
Is there any way to stop that pop up? I don't want to remove any icons off my desk top.
Thanks. _________________ Gordon Borland

If you click on the Cancel button two times the desktop cleanup pop-ups should stop. The box usually appears a second time after you click Cancel. The second rejection is supposed to be remembered by Windows. If it isn't remembered, Windows may have lost its mind. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

Thank you very much. I usually click the x at the top right of the screen.
If you get time please develop a usb port that we can stick in our head and then download everything you know about computers so we can download it direct to our brains. If that is a "no can do" then please accept a very big thank you for your time and efforts
to help us.

I get that message that there are unused icons on my desktop and Windows can remove them. Like Wiz says, clicking the message closed twice stops it. But, it comes back in another month or so. It would be nice to stop it altogether. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I still get it all the time on my XP laptop. On my desktop, I got relief when I upgraded to Vista.
Despite it's warts and blemishes, Vista really IS an improvement over its predecessors, IMO, in lots of ways - networking, multimedia, little nits and noys like that one, etc. |
