I think David Wright could steel his I.D. & get away with it. They sure look alike to me.

I was there! Don's playing really blew me away!
He played all weekend, with Johnny Bush, Leslie Tom, Bill Green and Jeff Chance. He played a borrowed Sierra and didn't seem to get along completely with the guitar, but his tone and playing was incredible!
I have never heard anyone play swing-C6 stuff on the E9th neck the way he did. World class!

That's it Randy, now i envy you!
I almost did when i saw the gorgeous SKH Legrande you sold but i managed to get over that. Smile
Seriously, Don's playing that weekend has been the subject of a lot of talk among swedish steelplayers since that festival. If there's such a thing as perfection he came pretty close to it, and he did it on a borrowed guitar with a "wrong" setup. After a few sets he folded some of the knee levers away but he kept on playing totally awsome just the same.
The tone he got out of the Sierra plugged straight into a NV 112 wasn't bad either.
...does it show that i was impressed? Rolling Eyes

Yes, the late, great Jeff Chance on fiddle. Jeff was one of the best country singers in the biz and a very talented multi-instrumentalist to boot! click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRfKTdpecAA and here in '84 with his group "Chance" one of my favorite bands ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riuqK-xC21w&feature=related

Jeff featured one set in Furuvik and it was very very good! For me, Jeff, Don, Joe Manuel on the guitar and Gene Watsons performance were the highlits of the festival.
