Since I only live about 2 miles from Gruene Hall (promoted as the oldest dance hall in Texas,,,where every country legend from ET, Bob Wills, Willie, George Strait etc has appeared) we usually spend at least part of Sunday afternoon there. Yesterday after enjoying the afternoon with one of our favorite entertainers (Brett Graham) we strolled down the street a couple of doors and there, in a backyard beer garden was Buzz and his friend Bo Porter playing for tips. Buzz sounded real good, although he was not able to really stretch out in that environment. It was a very pleasant surprise to get to enjoy one of the "world class" pickers,,,visited with him briefly. Told him we would love to see him back in Dallas sometime,,he said he would love to come back,,especially since he's living a little closer now. The year he was there,,,I think 3 years ago,,,as the last act on Saturday night he put on a super good show. I wish Albert would consider trying to get him back. |

I saw Buzz playing a few weeks ago in the Broken Spoke in Austin. I was impressed with Bo Porter's vocals, and Buzz did a fine job backing up on steel and lead guitar. He's a real character. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator.
