Does anyone have any experience with one of these capos? I saw one this past weekend at a bluegrass festival but never got to try it out. It's easily the finest "looking" capo I've ever had the pleasure of holding in my hand. It is so well crafted that you could compare to a fine piece of jewelery.

Probably works as good as a pencil and rubber bands. Smile The quest to invent the perfect capo. I like the Paige about as good as anything I've ever used. It's small and don't get in your way. Smile This one you referenced looks similar.

That is a nice-looking capo; however, at $120 I'm thinking I probably won't be getting one for Fathers' Day! Sad

I think a lot of the people making $35 guitar picks and $130 capos and $3,000, 18-watt amplifiers are going to find they jumped on a bandwagon just about the time the bandwagon collapsed, economically-speaking. Hey - maybe I'll just use up this ol' Shubb capo, it ain't broke yet.

I hear you... I've been using a Shubb for quite awhile and do like it and it does everything I need. However, I really do like the looks of the Elliott!! Incidentally, I'm one of those guys that has paid $35 for a guitar pick... more than once... Embarassed

I use a Ptacek capo. They are hand made by Vladya Ptacek in the Czech republic, and only sell for $100 each. I have also paid $75 for a pick.
And if you think the economy is doing anything to the "$35 guitar picks and $130 capos and $3,000, 18-watt amplifiers", your right it has. All of those things are still selling like crazy and some have even gone up in price. There are still going to be professional musicians who use, need, or desire quality items that work and perform. Sure maybe the bedroom picker wont be able to afford some of these thing now, but there will ALWAYS be a market for them.

The beautiful Ptacek Capo (best capo in the world):
