I use the Tech 21 60 watt powered extension cabinet along with a separate solid state preamp and it works well, sort of a poor man's "Furlong Split Cab". Plenty of power for small to medium sized jobs and there are tone adjustments and an output volume control on board. (I tried it with my "Sarno Classic Tube Preamp" however and it was far too noisy.)

I am going to check with a dealer here, and see if he will let me try one out, the one 60watt amp has a 6 spring reverb. I Use a Tech21 DI for bass, I like the sound of it.

Robert ,I used one ,with the ext cabinet ,great amp ,super for guitar ,& 36 lbs per cabinet , a tad noisy ,but I was able to sell it for more than I paid new after 10 yrs. The VP? at the time has a brother who is a steeler ,service is top notch . Forumite Michael Lee Allen may have one available , still in the box Cool Bill
