Saturday evening I sat down for a rehearsal we are playing for a wedding reception. Before the first song was over the string broke on my volume pedal. Naturally being a poor boy I did not have another one. I had to get through as best I could until a friend from that city could bring me one to use. It just messed with my mind playing straight through the amp. Is there a diagram anywhere that shows how the string goes back on? Bobbe Seymore has always preached carry two of everything which is a great idea. I will get a second pedal when I can get some things in order. |

Try Greg Cutshaw's site, I believe he has complete directions on replacing the string in your volume pedal. Someone suggested that a shoestring works well as a substitute for the original. (Note: be careful to closely follow the directions, if you wind the string incorrectly the pedal will function in reverse, on when in the up position, off when down.) |

Hey Mr. Paul, it was good bumping into you at the Dallas show. Long time since Sherman Texas, huh??
Yes snag a second backup pedal. That's something that will keep you keeping on, my friend! |

It was good to see too James at the Texas show. A second pedal is in order and I am having mine repaired tomorrow. It has been a few years since we ate over in Sherman,Texas. I guess the next treat is on me. |

I got my pedal repaired today. Does anyone know if a person can buy the string and the rubber feet? I looked for a link to Goodrich and did not find one. Do they have a website? |

This is a great forum that has some great members. I met James and had lunch one time with him and his wife. I have visited with him at the Texas show. His offer for string and rubber feet just proves he is a first class individual. Thank you so much James and check your email. |

I asked about rubber feet in another thread earlier this week. It turns out that Scotty's Music has them, but minimum shipping is over three times the cost of the feet.
Anyone have a cheaper source? |

I've just recently come into possession of a Goodrich volume pedal. The pedal doesn't work. The light isn't burned out so I'm assuming it's the sensor that slides up and down on the inside the pedal itself...sorry, don't know the correct terminology. Does anyone on the forum have any suggestions? Maybe someone has a schematic they could share or knows where to begin testing...I'd love to be able to repair this thing and put it to good use. Cheers |

I contacted Mike at Scottys Music in St. Louis. I read here that they carry the volume pedal parts. They had a daigram on how to string a Goodrich pedal as well. Mike confirmed they carry parts and I placed my order for myself and a couple of other steel players. I even ordered a DVD of Buddy Emmons from the Steel Guitar Classics. Thanks Mike for your courtesy and I look forward to receiving my order. |
