We put up this website as a generic owner's manual for most any steel guitar:

http://www.steelguitarinfo.com

It also contains .pdf files of owners manuals for several different brands.

You might also find this section of our website useful:

http://www.steelguitar.com/steelmap/steelmap.htm

BTW, all of our steels come with owner's manuals.

It really bears repeating that the Carter site has all kinds of great maintenance information for owners of just about any brand of steel. I sure wish it had been around when I was trying to figure out my first couple of steels!

I think Dante wrote one (after DaVinci and Bosch built an early pre-Bigsby prototype.)

Hi Des -- the info John has given you on the Carter site is about as good as you will find anywhere, but just in case you don't have it, here is the Rains website ...don't think have any info on display though.

Also, for you Sierra owners there's a very helpful "Sierra Session Series Manual" in PDF form on Sierra's home page. Go to http://www.sierrasteels.com/, click the "enter" button, and you'll see it on the right-hand side of the page. I have an older Crown Series guitar, but the manual is still mostly applicable.
