I never thought I would sell this guitar, but there always comes a time for everything. The guitar was last set up by Albert Johnson. Albert does wonders on these PP guitars. It is Emmons set up with P1 being the Franklin pedal. Crawford Cluster, so you have 7 KL's for the E9th neck and 5 for the C6th. The C6th neck is set up like Buck Reid's copedant.
I'm asking $5200.00 plus shipping costs. No trades please. Paypal OK if you pay the fee. Reduced price is $4,800 plus shipping.
Here's some pics. Email me if interested.
You will notice that Albert machined some pedal rod connectors like the 3 hole ShoBud style. He also makes it play more like a LL111 than a PP. Emmons original pick ups.

Nice guitar, Tim! Albert does such great work. I'd buy it from you, but I'm looking for one with more knee levers .
Good luck with the sale! |

Mike (Cookie) Jones has a P/P with 10-K's and John Hughey had 10-K's on his Zum. But then, they have/had 2-knees on each leg! That's an unfair advantage right there! And they knew what to do with them! I believe several fellows, like Paul Franklin have individual Right-Knee-Levers for the E9 & C6 necks. When they switch necks, they retract the RK's for one neck and pull down the KL's for the other neck. I realized that one night when Paul had a KL that was not quite snug enough and it kept falling down in his way, when he was on the other neck!! _________________ <marquee> Go~Daddy~Go, (No), Go, It's your Break Time</marquee> L8R, jb

Bump up to the top for an absolutely beautiful guitar... Got to visit Tim and the Birmingham gang earlier this year. Had the pleasure to pick a bit on this guitar as well as hear Tyler Hall and Tim play on it.
This one has 'the' sound..

Chris, You got me thinking. I would trade for a nice Franklin.
Thanks Mike. That was a very special jam. That was the last time I got to play with Brother Bill Simmons. Sure miss that rascal. |

Tim..
that was a great jam. Well worth the drive from Florida to be with Bill and meet all you fellas. Looking back, I'm so glad Bill talked me into coming up. I have a great picture of Bill sitting there checking out the tone in all them fender amps we had that night!!!

Tim, how do the pull rods connect to the changer raise fingers? I can't see the wire hooks in the photo.

The pull rods have hooked ends which pull directly on the raise fingers. It looks like the holes in the raise fingers have been enlarged. |

Jerry,
Albert eliminates the wire hooks, so the rods connect to the changer. I'm not sure if the holes were enlarged to accomodate the rod vs. the wire hook. But, Albert takes a lot of the slack most poeple expect on a PP. the pedals bottom out great and there is minimal noise from the undercarriage. Albert also installs rod guides. It's pretty amazing what he turns out. Everyone on the forum that has had Albert rework their PP's have been more than satisfied.
I hope this answers your question. I'll try to remember to take another pic and post. Work has been long hours lately. You have to admit, it's a gorgeous steel, loaded and if you could only hear it! |
