I dropped into Billy Cooper's today for a quick lesson on my console steel with Charleton. The man is a living history of the steel guitar. He walked me through some Jerry Byrd slants tht have been eluding me for weeks. He is a truly great non pedal teacher as well as player. It was great to see him.

Bob, the first song Buddy taught me was Danny Boy, using slants. I had never slanted before, and man that bar was flying all over the room until I got the hang of it! I owe everything to that man...So patient and kind...
