What a great show it was and everyone sounded great...A great tribute to a great Artist....The back up band was super with all the ones who play these shows...Got some great shots of Paul on Steel. RS

One of the best shows that I've seen in years on tv. The one who surprised me the most was Jamie Foxx. All the other singers sounded great on those
"Country" songs too. Very good! Ray

Paul played his brass off. Ace In The Hole sounded great. George Strait is very deserving of this award.Jody.

Just by accident I suppose, my wife and I had to leave the room when Taylor Smith came on.

The rest of the show was very nice.

Great show. Am I reading a little something into it that wasn't there or was there a "sort of controlled but cool friendliness" between George and Alan Jackson ? I hope not. We enjoyed it all very much.

First show I watched from start to finish. My son
was away and even asked me to tape it so he could watch it today. George deserves to be KING GEORGE.
Loved Lee Annes tribute song. I bet George had
some goose bumps. I know I did.

Charlie Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

P.S. That backup band wasn't too shabby either.
Nice work Paul.

I thought the show was great, haven't enjoyed a show on TV as much in years. Country Music as we know it was at it's best.

Lee Ann was great, I never get tired of listening to her sing. "Randy, though deserving, you're a lucky rascal". Paul was super (but then I wouldn't expect anything else) and we could hear him in the mix and that was unusual.

As far as these old ears are concerned, George will always be KING GEORGE......alan

Yes it was a great Show and George deserves to be awarded. My only complaint was that Drummer. Why do they have to band the heck out of those Drums. If he had been a little Quieter we could have heard Paul a little more.Bobbe Seymour is right the drummer had to get that last band in there. When I get a drummer that is to loud at one of our Jamboree's I tell him to quiet down and it makes it so much better.

Literally the first "country music show" I've enjoyed in years!!!! Must have been 'cause 99% of it was songs from that "Texas Boy",,,he has certainly stayed with his roots for almost 30 years. He first started at Gruene Hall and Crystal Candelier,,,both less than a mile from where I live,,,,used to cost us $1.75 to get in to see him and Ace in the Hole.

I watched the second half, it was better than I expected. Of course I never heard George or anyone give credit to the musicians. I wonder how they would sound without a band?

For some reason I thought Brookes & Dunn did the best job in the spirit of the show. I noticed as the show progressed the new sound of the "Rock & Roll" guitars was used, and then stopped later on.
With as many hits as George had over the years I'm not sure why they were singing songs of other great artists. Were they previous winners ? Like most of you forumites it's the first Country Western show I h
ave listened to in it's entirety in several years.

On many TV shows the credits will show everyone from the Caterer to the Janitor but seldom give Muscician Credits.

I'm with Sonny Jenkins, This was the first CMA show I've been able to watch in more than 10 years. Only disapointment to me was the lack of panning to the band during some great musical breaks. The only shot I saw of Paul was toward the end & it didn't show him clear enough to recognize. Glad some one knew it was him. As said before, finaly a real Country Music Show. Recon Some Nashville Producers might get the message? Smile Andy H.

My wife watched it for me ,I had to work my "day job". She said it was OK. She liked everything up to the part when Jamie Fox did,"You look so good in love",and that rockabilly version of "All my exes". But other than that, it was a pretty good show.
