Topic: D10 players: one 2 necker, or 2 one neckers |

I've been very happy since returning from U12 to D10, (especially my "new" Sho-Bud Pro). How many of you have thought of using 2 seperate light weight single neck guitars E9 and C6,vs. the double neck?

| I've never really thought about having two singles but I do have one single neck that I carry in our motor home. It is a GFI single ten keyless. Right now it is set up as an E9th, but I am thinking about changing it to a C6th. I guess you could carry two light weight singles and set them up side by side. |

I already carry 2 amps,2guitars, 1 banjo, madolin and a D10. Another case would make my husband leave.

My thought process was that a single neck steel is a heck of a lot lighter and, yes... although you would have to make two trips to move them, overall much easier on the back. The other benefit would be that a C6 single neck may be easier to play because of the pedal and knee set up.

Kenny I have that exact dolly from Home Depot for about $19.00 (on sale). The wheels are starting to go pigeon toe, and I think I need bigger wheels too.

Another option would be the rock n roller. More expensive but you can haul everything at one time. I still prefer a D-10 for gigs but my GFI is nice to use in the motor home. |

Fred that might be fine for a home/practice scenario but what do you do when you have a gig to play -- which tuning do you take ..or do you set up 2 steels on stage !! (I don't think so  )
Either go with a D10 or stick with the U12 ..anything else would be a bit impractical I think ...unless you only plan on playing E9th gigs.

I know that most stages, or playing areas are too small for 2 steels. I'm just thinking that 2 single necks are lighter individually than a D10, and that makes them easier to handle. And a single neck C6 steel would have it's own advantages too. I guess not a very practical idea for other reasons though.

I have set of split cases for my Mullen D-10, the main guitar case has wheels. Makes the whole weight thing a lot less of a problem...alan
