I see many tuning suggestions in SGF, but i would like some suggestions past the normal C6. Am I safe to assume E7 and E9(for a 6 string lap steel)would normally be used for Country Western tunes. Any suggestions for Blues Music?? As always, sincerest thanks in advance! Very Happy

For blues I would use an open E tuning :
E B E G# B E - low to high.

Jim,

If you will go back a page to the May 21st and scroll down to the post about the Duesenberg Multi Bender and read all there is there, you will find all kinds of tuning ideas that will work for a 6 string lap steel.

I had 6 tunings listed there myself. Smile
