Has someone here home built a Standel 25L15 copy? _________________ You can observe a lot just by looking |

If you do a Google search you might find a posting on another forum where one fellow did build his own copy. Sorry but I can't remember where I saw it.
It's extremely rare to see a home brew version of the Standel 25L15 because the schematics are virtually non-existent. |

I thought I read the the Weber version was going to be based on the Standel, but not an exact copy. |

Bill, my friend Tim Maag, built me one out of a Hi Watt custom 50 head.
We had Merle Travis's amp on loan to copy.
The only difference was that the, Triad output transformer on Merles amp put out over a 100 Henries, and the Partridge on the Hi Watt was 30?.
Everything else we nailed.
To be honest there was no audible difference.
I believe the Triad part was originally intended for radar, it may have been an attempt to get closer to the DT Williamson specs that the amp is based on?.
Its my understanding that the re issues have a more Fender like (good quality though) OT.

Tim has my 25L15 now -- the 60th one made. It has the third tube configuration Tim has seen. Still has Frankenstein hats, or spark plug wires, though.
I am supposed to take it by Standel as they want to see it.
