If any of you follow Smooth Jazz or NBA basketball, you have heard of this guy. He was a devout Christian, an avid family man, a very unique bass player, and a great basketball player. He died this morning at 44 years old of cancer. What a loss.

Yeah I met that guy back in the early 90s when I was doing a lot of video work for Motown Records. Nice guy and an interesting bass player - he played left handed and upside down strings. But he played great and very funky. Rest easy bro.

What an amazing college ball player he was--a Sooners legend! Breaks my heart to see them go so young. Lost another acquaintance this week to cancer and he was only 38.
