Hi folks,
After I tune a split note with the lowering nylon tuner when both the knee lever and pedal are pressed and then I try to tune just the one note with the colored raise nylon tuner, this raising nylon tuner also raises the split note.
How do I adjust it so that the colored raise nylon tuner only adjusts the one lower pedal and not the split tuned note when both knee lever and pedals are pressed?
If this has to do with adjusting pedal/lever travel, please specify on which lever/pedal(lower or raise)and if more travel or less. |

My split for the 6th string B pedal combo.... G#-G-F#
Try tuning the split (G) first with the hex you think would do the lever, then after that tune the lever full lower with the colored hex nut.
This is how my Carter works... It seems kind of back wards.
Good luck _________________ MSA 12 String E9th/B6th Universal.

the colored one is only used when both B pedal and Knee is in, adjust the other one to your full lower with knee only. you may have it over tuned if you think thats possible back all your nylon tuners up till you know you are not against the changer, also I dont know what kind of guitar you have my emmons has a nut you have to make sure the lower has enough room to drop the full tone, again other guitars are different. This sounds like you do not have enough slack in your pulling system. Check for slack and then check this video out.

Ken is correct as to order and which nut controls which note or combination.

Joe is incorrect and has it backwards. |

Thanks for the advice.
I still got the problem though and it's driving me insane because I've tried everything and it still doesn't work...but it did before.
This split tuning I set up on my Carter is a bit complicated because I actually have two splits on the same string.
The setup worked perfectly for months until yesterday before I decided to mess with it and now I can't get it to work again...It makes me wonder if it worked because by some fluke caused by bad adjustment like not enough lever/pedal travel or something. |
