I just spoke with Al to confirm that he will be back at "Casey's" in Canoga Park on thursday nights, starting on April 8th. The maestro will be dazzling the patrons with his jazz picking on pedal steel, banjo and guitar.
*Casey's 22029 Sherman Way ( 1/2 block west of Topanga Canyon)
** with Dr. Woody James- trumpet, George Edwards-drums, Richard Maloof-acoustic bass, Lloyd Herbert-piano & trombone.
*** Even our very own Earnest Bovine has been known to sit in on piano & steel.

I would love to see this show, Al knocked me out with his playing at the Pheonix show. I'm looking forward to hearing him at more of the shows.

When it come to playing jazz, Al is up there in the same league as Buddy Emmons, Doug Jernigan and Maurice Anderson. Any and everybody who is within driving distance of the club owes it to themselves to hear him. |
