| For those old enough to remember Joseph Stalin and the Cold War,,,I have a song written by Fred Rose and recorded by Hank (Luke the Drifter) called No, No Joe,,,a real cool song with a very good swing steel guitar ride. If I could figure out how to post it so that ya'll could hear it,,,,??? |

Sonny.I have that on a cassette tape some one gave me years ago.
I saw Hank Williams in 1950 at the Wichita Falls,Tx auditorium and later when cold cold heart came out.I remember this because on the show he said i have a new song coming out and hope every one likes it,or i am going to go hungrey next month.lol.I got to talk with him that afternoon in a music store and he gave me a picture and autographed it for me.He sure was friendly,but had a sad look i noticed.
I was very young back then and think 45 rpm records were just coming out.
No record then or now could capture the live sound he had in that auditorium.And there were no electronic tuners back then and best of all,no sound man to screw his sound up.lol
Jerry Rivers played his fiddle over a mike.IMHO,i think it is sad bands now days can not balance thier sound.It is so simple to do.The lead players keep thier volume below the singer,and the rhythm section below the lead/back up players. Tracy |

| Yes Tracy,,that I can identify with! Back "in my day" we grabbed our ax and amp, hooked up and let'er rip,,,and that was some pretty good size venues with some pretty big names,,,no roadies, no sound people. (Then we all crammed ourselves back in that station wagon for 5-6 hours to the next gig) |
