I love mine. but I'm biased. It is easily my favorite phone of the many I have owned. I'd research what it would cost you vs. what you currently pay... if it doesn't work for you financially, you can definitely sell them quickly and at a healthy profit.

I think it has already won about 5 design awards... and the reviews are pretty positive. The sole negative I've heard is people don't like the edge network (but remember the phone will connect to wifi wherever it is offered) nor the AT&T exclusivity. If those aren't a problem for you, you'll love the phone.

Unlimited internet access, email.

I talked with some of the younger people around here
and they definitely endorsed it.

I'm a pretty good conventional technology person,
but I've never taken time to drill down into the belly of cell phone features.

I tell my daughter what I want and she does it.

I like the possibilities of the map feature when traveling.
WiFi connection. Blue Tooth.

I know there was some initial bad press
but seems to have been addressed.

I'm happy to find out there is definitely a market.

No doubt it will be easy to sell if I don't want it.

It is the best cell phone I have ever used. I stared with the brick phone about twenty years? ago.
Any way clear, reception no dropped calls.
I use the iPod feature and the google maps. All very nice.
Only one button! With no itty bitty letters.

I can also imagine myself lying in bed
reading SGF and looking at all the beautiful guitars!

Looks like an USB connection to PC,
average 6 hours of heavy usage(?),
simple charging cradle.

What is your average battery life?

I use mine all day everyday.... it comes with a little charger too... I bought a good xantrex inverter for my car and typically I charge it while I drive.

I usually charge it for an hour every other day and I don't run out.

If you've owned an ipod before you know that if you just listen to it... the battery lasts a long time, but if you are constantly fast forwarding or skipping to the next song it decreases your charge significantly. Talking on the phone and websurfing seem to not use up the batter fast at all...

6 hours seems short... I think that is if you are nonstop talking, watching a movie etc..

Randy, have you found a hands free adaptor-holder-charger for the phone?
I have one for my much older motorola V400 and I wouldn't want to part with the convenience of hands free talking while driving.
(It's a good one that was professionally installed)

Just found a cool application for the iPhone. Not sure how long it's been around, but now I can get WSM streams and the best of all Steel Radio. I was discouraged when I first got the phone, but I'm liking it more and more every day. The app is called Wunder Radio. Just go to itunes app store and do a search for it. Lovin' it. I hope it works on the tower (Edge Network). It works great on wifi.

The Iphone rocks. I even use it with backing tracks plugged into my PA to practice. You need a adapter to plug it in but it works great. Peterson even has a strobe tuner ap for it.

Yes, I wish they had that tuner app out before I spent the $xxx.xx for the real thing. Oh well, having the Newman settings is worth alot to my tin ear! LOL I got that strobe app anyway. It's worth the 10 bucks to have a back up on my belt.

I love my Blackberry!
Internet, multiple email accounts, google earth, gps, password vault, tons of stuff as standard equipment and they just started an app store for it.
The media player is good but not as seemless as Itunes and you can use any provider.
I can make mine fart.. the kids love it.

Get out of your contract, pay the termination fee...the iphone is worth million$$$ to me! (if i had millions)
Seriously, it records awesome audio, i just added that peterson strobe tuner, it has gps, very easy texting, great photos (with apps to edit them), built in sleep timer and alarm, language translator, full internet, excellent calendar with event reminders, even a compass!
oh yeah, a great phonebook with pictures of each person as they ring...also cool ring tones for each person (i have a quacking duck for my wife....)

You can Jail Break a I phone to work with any provider, I've had one since they came out, Love it, and there new soft ware coming in June , that will add many more features to it , soft ware 3.0... I've always felt that the i Phone has a few short comings, not picture in tex message, no video, the 3.0 soft wear will fix that, plus copy and past will be added, and a lot more...

++++ for iPhone and Apple in general. I've had 15 different cell/smart phones, and the iPhone is hands-down the best.

No dropped calls, no complaints about voice quality, great bluetooth reliability and a boat-load of apps which allows for customized functionality.

David is right re: the upgrade this June This will include a "landscaped" keyboard which will take care of my only gripe.....(small keyboard).

Just an update on this.

Since I'm already an ATT customer,
I purchased the refurb'ed 16g 3g iPhone recently.
150.00. Monthly unlimited data plan 30.00.

As far as I can tell, it's even eligible
for the Apple Care program. Will know for
sure soon when I try to activate.

Has really been fun and useful.
Especially over wifi.

3g is also good but consumes more power.

I got the iStrobosoft tuner app.

And the other that allows you
to save your own temperment, i.e. Jeff Newman's.
I set up the open string tunings.
Then pedal changes. Then knee lever changes.
Very handy. Tuner is accurate.
Cost around 4.00. Forgot name.

iStrobosoft around 10.00. Not happy but perhaps
Peterson will update with ability to save a tuning.
I did purchase the iPhone to 1/4 inch jack adapter
from Peterson. Around 15.00 shipped.
Handy for a lot of situations.

Also some neat composition and recording apps.
Has a free?I think, app to slow down licks for practice.

I've got to check out that docking station

Also have a nice set of powered computer speakers
I plug into the head phone jack.

It is an X OS but doesn't allow direct
access for configurations. Down side.
Would like the ability to create directories
and move files without iTunes.

Perhaps someone would start a thread on useful apps.

Would recommend using the FireFox browser
and get the Download Helper extension
and pay to register it.

You can download youtube's and convert to iPhone format. And a lot more handy conversions.
I.e. convert a youtube flv to an mp3.
Really great selection of conversions.
Even convert to dvd format. Worth it.
